Original Cuban postal stationery envelope from 1899, issued during the period of U.S. Military Administration in Cuba following the Spanish-American War.

The envelope features a green 1-cent imprinted indicium depicting Christopher Columbus, inscribed “CUBA” and “UN CENTAVO.”

A particularly interesting feature is the period paper watermark, clearly visible when held to transmitted light and identified as “U.S. POD ’99,” referring to the United States Post Office Department and the year 1899.

The envelope remains unused and provides an appealing surviving example of Cuba’s transitional postal history at the end of the 19th century.
