1899 Cuba U.S. Occupation Postage Due Stamp Set – Scott J1–J4

Complete four-denomination set of early Cuban postage due stamps issued during the United States administration of Cuba following the Spanish-American War.

Introduced in 1899, these stamps were created by overprinting United States postage due stamps for use in Cuba. The complete issue consisted of four denominations, all represented in this group:

Scott J1 – 1¢ de Peso
Scott J2 – 2¢ de Peso
Scott J3 – 5¢ de Peso
Scott J4 – 10¢ de Peso

The stamps bear the distinctive “CUBA” and “de PESO” overprints and are offered together as a complete used set.

The first U.S. postage due stamps overprinted for Cuba entered use on October 14, 1899, making this an interesting postal artifact from the period of American administration of the island.

Condition:
Used vintage philatelic condition with cancellations, age-related toning, staining and handling wear. The backs show substantial hinge, paper and/or adhesive remnants from previous album mounting. Some perforations show age and wear. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.
