Published by Harris Bros. Co., Habana, this early Republican-era Cuban postcard presents a beautifully detailed view of the plaza, surrounding architecture, tropical landscaping and street activity, including horse-drawn carriages.

The building identified on the postcard as the President’s Palace was the historic Palace of the Captains General, which served as Cuba's presidential residence during the early years of the Republic, before the later Presidential Palace was inaugurated.

The front is captioned:

“26 – President’s Palace and Senate Building, Havana”

The reverse bears “República de Cuba – Tarjeta Postal – Union Postale Universelle” and identifies Harris Bros. Co., Habana as the publisher.
