Original 1953 Canciones y Danzas de España illustrated folklore publication, issued in Madrid by the Sección Femenina de Falange Española Tradicionalista y de las J.O.N.S.

This large-format vintage publication presents the traditional costumes, music and regional dances of Spain through period photography, illustrations and color artwork. Sections cover numerous Spanish regions including Andalucía, Galicia, Vascongadas, Canarias, Baleares, Extremadura, Castilla, Aragón, Murcia, Valencia and Navarra.

Especially appealing is the extensive period advertising associated with its Cuban circulation, including advertisements for Hatuey “La Gran Cerveza de Cuba,” Bacardí Añejo, Hotel Royal Palm Havana, Almacenes Ultra, Premier shirts, Petronio clothing and the Cuban footwear industry.

The publication also contains a striking color illustrated map of Spain showing regional costumes and dances, full-page traditional costume illustrations, black-and-white documentary photographs, and a fascinating international tour itinerary titled Recorrido de “Canciones y Danzas” de España, listing performances throughout Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East and the United States.
