1985 Cuba Complete Series A Foreign Exchange Certificates Set FX1–FX5 UNC

Complete five-note set of Banco Nacional de Cuba Series A Foreign Exchange Certificates, comprising all denominations of the issue: 1, 3, 5, 10 and 20 Pesos.

Issued circa 1985, these distinctive certificates were part of Cuba's special foreign-exchange monetary system. Series A certificates were intended for visitors from socialist countries and could be obtained in exchange for approved foreign currencies and travelers' checks.

Each note features the emblem of the Banco Nacional de Cuba and the prominent letter “A” on the obverse, with inscriptions in Spanish, English and Russian.

The reverses form an especially attractive historical series illustrating important Cuban fortifications:

1 Peso – P-FX1: Castillo San Salvador de la Punta, Havana
3 Pesos – P-FX2: Castillo San Pedro de la Roca, Santiago de Cuba
5 Pesos – P-FX3: Castillo de los Tres Reyes, Havana
