c.1908 Havana Cuba Boat Landing Harbor – Harris Bros. No. 29 Postcard

Antique early 20th-century Cuban postcard depicting the busy boat landing and harbor of Havana, Cuba, published by Harris Bros. Co., Habana.

Captioned “29 – Boat Landing, Havana,” the scene captures an active waterfront filled with small sailing vessels and their tall masts, dockside structures, horse-drawn transportation and workers along the harbor.

A particularly attractive feature is the prominent Cuban flag flying from a boat in the foreground, making this an evocative image of Havana during the early years of the Republic of Cuba.

The divided reverse is headed “República de Cuba – Tarjeta Postal – Union Postale Universelle” and identifies Harris Bros. Co., Habana as the publisher.

A handwritten period message comments on the activity of Havana Harbor, describing it as one of the world's busiest harbors for its size. It is signed “Mary.” The postcard does not appear to have been mailed.
