c.1930s Cuba Santuario del Cobre Virgen de la Caridad Religious Postcard

Original vintage Cuban religious postcard depicting the Santuario Nacional de Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre, near Santiago de Cuba, home of Cuba’s revered patroness, the Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre.

The front presents a striking photographic view of the National Shrine together with an inset image of Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre.

Of particular interest is the reverse, printed “Tarjeta Postal – República de Cuba,” with a devotional statement indicating that the card was blessed and authorized by Fray Valentín Zubizarreta. It also bears the devotional inscription:

“Al pie de la imagen de Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre, he rogado por vos.”

An evocative piece of Cuban religious and cultural history associated with one of the island’s most important pilgrimage sites.
