Nelson Villalobos Ferrer Cuban Serigraph 1983 Signed & Numbered 21/300

Original signed and numbered serigraph by Cuban artist Nelson Villalobos Ferrer (b. 1956), dating to the early 1980s.

This intimate figurative composition depicts three closely intertwined figures rendered in expressive dark linework against a warm brown-gold ground. Villalobos’ distinctive drawing style gives the work an emotional, almost sculptural quality, with the overlapping figures forming a single unified composition.

The serigraph is hand-signed “Nelson” in white at the lower right and numbered 21/300 at the lower left. An embossed blind stamp is also present in the lower portion of the sheet.

Villalobos studied at Cuba’s National School of Art and the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, completing his studies in painting and drawing in 1983. This work dates from the early period of his artistic career, when he was emerging within Cuba’s contemporary art scene.
