Vintage color linen postcard depicting the Colegio Nuestra Señora del Rosario, operated by the French Dominican Sisters in Vedado, Havana, Cuba.

Located at G and 13th Streets in Vedado, the Colegio Nuestra Señora del Rosario was a prominent private Catholic educational institution offering kindergarten, primary and secondary education as well as commercial, secretarial and language studies.

The reverse identifies the school as:

“Colegio Ntra. Sra. del Rosario – Dominicas Francesas – G y 13, Vedado, Habana, Cuba.”

Produced in the United States by Tichnor Quality Views / Tichnor Bros., Inc., Boston, Massachusetts, this attractive linen postcard preserves a view of the institution before the major political and educational changes that followed the Cuban Revolution.

The French Dominican community associated with the school left Cuba in 1961, making the postcard an interesting surviving piece of pre-Revolution Cuban educational and religious history.
