Vintage 1970s Disney Goofy Wind-Up Walking Toy by Durham Industries

Charming vintage Goofy mechanical walking toy produced by Durham Industries Inc. and marked Made in Japan.

This plastic figure features Goofy dressed in a black suit with red shoes and his distinctive tall hat. A metal winding key extends from the side of the figure.

Most importantly, the original wind-up mechanism is working. When the key is wound, Goofy moves forward in a walking motion.

The toy retains its metal winding key and displays the molded Durham Industries Inc. maker's mark on the back.

An appealing piece of vintage Disney memorabilia and Japanese mechanical toy history, particularly for collectors of Goofy, classic Disney characters, and wind-up toys. Comparable Durham character walkers are documented from the 1970s; an exact Goofy example is currently described as a 1970s Durham wind-up walker.

Condition

Vintage pre-owned condition with noticeable age and play wear. There is surface soiling, scuffing, scratches, discoloration and substantial loss/wear to portions of the painted/decorated suit, as visible in the photographs. The metal winding key shows oxidation.

The wind-up mechanism has been tested and is working — Goofy walks when wound. Key is included.
