c.1940s Aurora Lincheta Signed Photograph – Cuban Soprano & Casino de la Playa Singer

Original vintage signed and inscribed photograph of Cuban singer and soprano Aurora Lincheta, an important performer in Cuba's radio, theater, recording and entertainment scene during the 1930s and 1940s.

Lincheta emerged to prominence through Cuba's celebrated La Corte Suprema del Arte radio competition and went on to perform professionally on Cuban radio and theater stages. She also recorded with the legendary Orquesta Casino de la Playa, including recordings issued by Victor during the late 1930s and early 1940s.

Her career extended to cinema, with an appearance as Candelaria in the 1940 Cuban-Mexican film Siboney.

This approximately 6.1 × 4.5 in. (15.5 × 11.5 cm) black-and-white portrait bears a large handwritten presentation inscription across the image beginning:

“Para Fernando, sincero recuerdo de Aurora Lincheta…”
