Original Cuban souvenir sheet issued October 4, 1967, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the launch of Sputnik 1, the world's first artificial satellite.

This colorful space-themed sheet contains eight stamps illustrating milestones of the early Soviet space program: Sputnik I, Lunik III, Venusik, Cosmos, Mars I, Electron I–II, Luna 9 and Luna 10.

The surrounding design commemorates achievements including the first artificial satellite, early photographs of the far side of the Moon, Venus exploration, the first soft landing on the Moon and the first artificial lunar satellite.

The sheet bears the inscription “En honor al pueblo soviético pionero de la astronáutica” — honoring the Soviet people as pioneers of astronautics.

An especially attractive crossover collectible for Cuban philately, Sputnik memorabilia and early space exploration collectors.
