Pre-1959 Cuba Partido Socialista Popular Political Flyer – San Fernando de Camarones

Original pre-1959 Cuban political broadside issued by the Municipal Committee of the Partido Socialista Popular (PSP) in San Fernando de Camarones, Cuba.

Headlined “AL PUEBLO,” the document calls upon local residents to support a civic movement seeking to have San Fernando de Camarones declared a “Ciudad Rebelde” until government promises for local public works were fulfilled.

The broadside specifically demands construction of the San Fernando–Paradero de Camarones road, a school center, and street paving. It cites civic mobilization in Baracoa, Sagua de Tánamo, Gibara and Holguín as examples and calls for cooperation among citizens of different political affiliations.

The document was issued by the Comité Municipal de San Fernando de Camarones del Partido Socialista Popular, the Cuban communist political party active before the 1959 Revolution.

A particularly interesting piece of locally issued Cuban political ephemera documenting grassroots political organization and public-works activism in a small Cuban community.

Condition:
Poor to fair vintage condition. The sheet is heavily age-toned and fragile, with substantial edge losses, tears, chips and missing paper, particularly along the upper and right edges. Additional tears and losses are visible along the left and lower margins. The reverse is blank and shows age toning. Despite the deterioration, the principal printed text remains largely complete and legible. Please examine all photographs carefully.
